Our History

Kramer Industrial Sales was founded by Kenneth Kramer, in 1951 in
Milwaukee, WI. The business represented a wide variety of industrial
equipment firms, ranging from lubrication equipment to steel straightening
and coupling firms. The conveyor belting related work began in 1963.

As a degreed engineer, Ken worked with the large number of paper mills
and heavy equipment firms operating in the Wisconsin area, when
Milwaukee was commonly called the "machine tool capital" of the world.
In the 1970's and early 1980's, the business activity had shifted towards
food processing and light manufacturing, as much heavy industry had left
the Milwaukee area.

With an eye toward the future, in 1984 Ken hired a recent college
graduate, named Chris Seward. Chris was finishing his four year degree
and had just spent a year working at Zin-Plas Corporation, in Grand
Rapids, MI, while finishing his last year of school in the evenings.

Ken continued working actively until the late 1980's, fully retiring in 1992.
The business was moved to Grafton in 1998, with Chris continuing the
business today, celebrating 25 years in 2009.
